Discounted Shuttle Service Lined Up for 2011 Rotary Winemakers’ Cookoff
Roundtrip Shuttle Service to the Event Offered to Both Visitors and Locals
Shuttles Will Be Available from Nine Hotels in Paso Robles and Atascadero
Paso Robles, California, May 16, 2011 – The Paso Robles Rotary Club in cooperation with Wine Country Charters of Paso Robles announced its discounted roundtrip shuttle offer to the 2011 Rotary Winemakers’ Cookoff on Saturday, August 6 at River Oaks Hot Spring. Reservations are required for the roundtrip shuttle service that will leave from the nine participating accommodation package hotels in Paso Robles and Atascadero. Included are: Adelaide Inn, Paso Robles; Best Western Colony Inn, Atascadero; Courtyard by Marriott Paso Robles; Hampton Inn, Paso Robles; Holiday Inn Express of Atascadero; Holiday Inn Express & Suites of Paso Robles; La Bellasera Suites & Spa; La Quinta Inns and Suites, Paso Robles; and The Paso Robles Inn.
“We are excited to offer an organized, affordable shuttle service to our event from the nine 2011 accommodation package hotels in both Paso Robles and Atascadero,” said Sharon Ross, the 2011 Rotary Winemakers’ Cookoff chair. “We hope to add convenience, peace of mind and a note of additional safety. This service will help us cut traffic and parking congestion at the event by encouraging attendees to leave their vehicles at or near one of the participating Paso Robles and Atascadero hotels and take the shuttle.”
Visitors and locals alike are welcome to use the roundtrip shuttle service and for the discounted $15 fee for shuttles leaving from participating Paso Robles hotels and $25 from the two participating Atascadero hotels. During its thirteen-year history, the Paso Robles Winemakers’ Cookoff has become one of Paso Robles’ most-popular wine, food and music events. It is also one of its most unique. The Cookoff features not just local wines, but the culinary talents of more than 30 of the appellation’s winemakers. Participating wineries pair their culinary creations with their finest wines and compete for both Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards the day of the event. Since the first Winemakers’ Cookoff in 1999, proceeds from the Winemakers’ Cookoff have been deposited in Rotary’s Harlow Ford Scholarship Foundation building a perpetual fund that has enabled the Paso Robles Rotary Club to award scholarships exceeding $350,000 as well as build a perpetual fund that will help guarantee future scholarship benefits.
