2011 List of Winemakers’ Cookoff® Participating Wineries Released

Paso Robles, CA, June 6, 2011 – The Paso Robles Rotary Club announced it has filled most of its winery station allotments for participation in this year’s Winemakers’ Cookoff® fundraiser. Commitments received to date include: founding Cookoff participants, Eberle Winery and Tobin James Cellars plus Cookoff first-time wineries Bon Niche and Still Waters Vineyards.

“We have 32 winery slots filled for our August 6th Cookoff,” said Sharon Ross, the 2011 Rotary Winemakers’ Cookoff Chair. “The Winemakers’ Cookoff is grateful for the overwhelming support we receive from the wine industry year after year. The fact that wineries regularly put our fundraiser on their calendars is a sign of the event’s prestige and popularity as well as the value the event represents to the community in raising much-needed funds for local high-school scholarships.”

The list of wineries currently committed to the 2011 Winemakers’ Cookoff includes: Anglim Winery, Arroyo Robles Winery, Barbeque Cellars, Bianchi Winery, Bon Niche, Castoro Cellars, Cinquain Cellars, D’Ambino Vineyards & Cellars, Del Real, Eberle Winery, Hearthstone Vineyard & Winery, Le Vigne Winery, Mitchella Vineyard & Winery, Mondo Cellars, Niner Wine Estates, Pear Valley Winery, Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery, Rio Seco Vineyard & Winery, Rotta Winery, Silver Horse Winery, Still Waters Vineyards, Tassajara Cellars, Tobin James Cellars, Vina Robles Winery, WCP Cellars, and Whalebone Winery. During its thirteen-year history, the Paso Robles Winemakers’ Cookoff has become one of Paso Robles’ most-popular wine, food and music events. It is also one of its most unique. The Cookoff features not just local wines, but the culinary talents of more than 30 of the appellation’s winemakers. Participating wineries pair their culinary creations with their finest wines and compete for both Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards the day of the event. Since the first Winemakers’ Cookoff in 1999, proceeds from the Winemakers’ Cookoff have been deposited in Rotary’s Harlow Ford Scholarship Foundation building a perpetual fund that has enabled the Paso Robles Rotary Club to award scholarships exceeding $350,000 as well as build a perpetual fund that will help guarantee future scholarship benefits.
